Awesome, thanks for that. I'd like to try this sometime, but not with a current working model!

I was always super impressd with a friend of mine who took the guts out of a working 10 speed shifter with a broken lever and replaced the guts in an older set of 9 speed shifters that no longer shifted well to make them work as 10speed. It was like surgery, but better.
