I've been riding with Giro helmets for many years. I'm considering a new helmet and seek feedback regarding other helmets.

I'm interested in hearing about Laser Z1 MIPS, POC Ventral Air Spin, and Bell Z20 MIPS Ghost. In addition to fit and weight, I'm particularly interested in feedback regarding the closing/tightening mechanism.

Thanks in advance. EWO

I have the Z1 MIPS. The closing mechanism is different from most others and produces fewer pressure points, which is a plus.

Which Giro helmet do you have?

I had a Lazer Z1 MIPS but got rid of it since it didn't fit my head shape. In my experience, Lazer and POC tend to fit narrower "oval" shaped heads compared to Bell which suits "round" head shapes. Giro is a toss-up depending on the model. The Giro Synthe MIPS fit me fine, but their more affordable MIPS options do not. Kask seems to fit both head types somehow.

I have both the Synthe and Lazer, but I prefer the Lazer as it feels like it spreads the pressure over a greater area than the Synthe. The Lazer runs larger as well; I’m Medium in the Lazer vs Large in Giro.

Same for me. The Lazer Z1 was just cut differently than anything I ever tried on...
