After a spirited ride this morning with a lot of downhill bumps I noticed after I got home that my shock is making a noise that wasn't there before.

When I push the bar down (with or without lockout) and during the rebound I would hear a dud. My neighbor said it sounded like it is hitting the top.

The shock is RS Recon Silver TK Solo Air, from a 2012 bike.

I wonder if it is just the damper that is toast or more than that.

My Fox shock was making a clunk without bottoming out - air got into the damper apparently, getting it back Tuesday

It sounds like the negative spring is toast.

daveThanks. I will look for a service/maintenance kit and give it an overhaul.
