On an organized century this past Saturday someone flung a pebble into my downtube that sounded like it was fired from an air rifle. It left a pretty good paint chip - my first significant chip on my 6 month old CIII. Luckily its located on the underside of the tube just above the BB.

Besides getting some touch up paint from Serotta, what are some immediate things I can do to take care of a chip? Should I clearcoat it with something in the mean time? If so, what?

are a great source for touch up paint. Take your bike to a shop and take colors and match them to the bike. Best done outdoors. Testor's has an abundant selection.

Use clear nail polish to protect it, then order the touch-up paint from Serotta to get a near perfect match, and just paint over the clear nail polish.
