Lousy weather in my part of Socal today. I grabbed my Serotta track/fixed bike, my SKS fenders and full rain gear and did 45 miles in crappy rainy weather. I had a great time and the fix gear thing is just to die for. You guys/gals on the east side don't have too bad.

17 degrees and light, slippery snow here today. Not at all safe to ride, and I was so sick of the trainer that I went skiing instead.

45 and rain is no fun either, but if that's as bad as it gets in SoCal you are in good stead.

Yeah, sounds about right, for march.
Today, 37' and wet, with lots of black ice. 3 hours and 45 min.

Yesterday, 25' for 2 1/2 hours.

in the "it's all relative" department, one advantage of riding in single digit temps with a strong wind last couple of days is...today's 34 degrees felt down right balmy.

jack b, i give anyone who rides in the rain big kudos. but for true east coast flavor, subtract 30 or 40 degrees! :D

Dare I ask what the temp was? Hard to imagine it being East Coast January like but I ain't the weather man.

Dave,

50 degrees but I don't get cold(no matter how cold) so it was no big deal. It was the fixed bike using your legs for brakes and solid wind and rain. Just a great riding day!

50* sounds nice. It was about 20 here today so it was a few hours of skate skiing. Perfect snow and lots of sun. Very nice indeed.

We had some light snow last night, my son and I went for a hike in the woods. Later on I rode the trainer. No road time for me yet this year, though last year I rode every weekend it seemed in January.

I'm starting to get intrigued by the idea of getting a mtn bike and riding to the polliwogs though. When things really freeze up it's fun to get into the wet areas you can't travel into during the rest of the year.

Right now 45 degrees in the rain doesn't sound as bad as it will later on.

I did a mp ride today for 35 miles. We rode straight east into the worst headwind I may have ever experienced. THe four hour of sleep and the hangover I had didn't help either...I couldn't hear myself think because of the wind...the ride back was fun though! :D
If you look close you can see Mt. Hood.

Cabin fever time in western PA. Several inches of snow and temps in the teens. We got away with murder during November and December. Roads are too wet and slick for our group. Oh well, we had fun sledding.

You said 50 degrees and rain is crappy weather?

Luxury, luxury.

Tom,

It's crappy when compared to the usual winter gig of 65 and sunny with no wind.
