Im usually pretty good at IDing vintage campy but I cant quite figure this one out.

Its a vintage c-record era pedal I've had for a while now. The thing that throws me off is the dust cap--Im fairly certain it is not a new replacement.

I know its not C-Record because the toe clip clamps to the top and no mushroom thing on the bottom.
Is this 1986-1987 Victory?
or 87-92 Chorus?

My eyes say Chorus but they look so dang similar and I'm tired of flipping between pictures of the two cuz who knows if they person photoing them even got it right.

Thanks!

I know the complete Campagnolo catalog has been posted online. I'm sure someone will post a link.

My vote goes for Athena.

Athena and Chorus have the curved guide on the back for the toe strap while Victory doesn't have it.

On your pedals and on Athena it looks to be shorter and it angles further away from the pedal body, while on Chorus it looks longer and closer to a 90° angle. Chorus also appears to be more polished.

I think choke figured it out up above.

Hmm.

are you talking the curved guide on the spindle side or the dust cap side?
Those two links look identical to me

Although the chorus link has the correct dust cap and looks exactly like mine--its good to know victory has been eliminated. Thanks!

Compare just that part; on Athena it is shorter and it angles away from the pedal body while on Chorus it is longer and and closer to a 90° angle to the body.

Man I was all with you looking at the pics like "Oh yeah I see it" and then clicked on the photo of the chorus pedals in the box and went back to the athena pedals in the box and they look IDENTICAL

One of the comments on the velobase page says "the difference appears to be in the axel (different part n.s in the 88 spare parts catalog) but I'm not sure what the actual difference is (axle material, design?)"

Its enough for me to have eliminated victory because from all other sources ive been reading chorus and athena are actually the same but just came in different boxes.

Heh, they do look the same in the box picture.

I think that the Chorus pedals look more polished and that should be the case, as the finish typically improved as the group level went higher. But it could just be the light in the pics.
