I don't know, today we started with a 99° index temp and finished with 107°. It was hot. I wear a typical aerated mesh type beanie, like the DeSoto, and it does a credible job for the most part. All the while, it lets air get to my head. But with a maxi type pad, I would worry about heat removal since air will be restricted. Maybe it's not all that big a deal, I don't know. Since they are very cheap, I might try one in my helmet. But my gut feeling is the restriction in cooling will be an issue. I'm in Florida, and it's hot. We usually leave early, about 6:30 or 7AM, and get back about 11. That last hour is brutal. Sweat still gets in my eyes since it's pouring from my head.

Too freakin funny! Don't doubt the effectiveness but some hilarious scenarios come to mind.

Getting up for an early morning ride on a sweltering day - Honey, where are your maxi pads?

Pharmacies see a sudden and unexplainable spike in sales of feminine hygiene products to male customers.

Playtex execs perplexed by a sudden and seemingly seasonal rise in sales.

“Hello, may I see your selection of MAMIL Pads? I’m looking for something highly absorbent that smells vaguely like cucumbers.”

Wouldn't that affect airflow that is meant to channel through the helmet to cool off the rest of the head?

I will pass on this latest innovation for sure.

I've been using Halo Caps for several years now. I had a terrible problem with sweat running into my eyes, especially on hills. The rubber strip inside the cap works great!

I've been using the Halo bands for many years and I can't deal without them now. But, I recently tried the Halo cap and it was a no-go for me. Just did not fit right at all (one size fits all ).
