Can somebody tell me what the maximum tire width is that can be safely run on a Mavic Reflex SUP clincher. Thanks.

I ran 700x35c cyclocross tires on them. Never had an issue before. I know the Helium wheels(that's what I used) were popular back in the 90's in cross. So 33's for sure.

Funny, I was just exploring this issue today. The answer really depends on the size of your rim. Schwable has this page that lays it all out:

In the 80s/90s, narrow rims was actually used as a selling feature on some high-end mountain bikes. 2.1in tires on 19mm external rims was a normal thing.

Came here to say the same thing. 2.1, 2.2" tires on Mavic narrow rims that Kieth Bontrager rolled down were a hot ticket at one point.

Not sure how high pressure I'd run, though.

It may not exhibit the riding characteristics you want, but it’s plenty safe at normal pressures.

For what it’s worth, I recently bought a new budget single speed from Giant and it came with 2.1 tires on traditional width rims.

I used to run Ritchey cross tires at 70psi on the Mavic Helium wheels which is the same rim as the Reflex. I never had any issues. Never had them pop off or anything either.
