Introducing Bike Adirondacks

I’d like to introduce Bike Adirondacks (BikeADK), a new Paceline Sponsor who I am working with to host custom cycling tours in some of my favorite areas of the Adirondack Mountain of upstate New York. Our aim this season is to give you the great cycling vacation you thought you’d be robbed of by the Covid gremlins–at a special Paceline “Friends of BBDave” discount. (More on that below!)

We are an Adirondack owned and operated bicycle powered company based in Saranac Lake, NY and owned by Doug Haney, who lives and works with his family in Saranac. We create, execute, promote and support charity driven events, build custom tours, curate a library of routes, trail networks, and events, and sell cool stuff.

We offer a lot for cyclists who want to explore this incredible area I’ve been riding in for over ten years:

Large events (and Main Website) (https://www.bikeadirondacks.com/)
Custom small group tours (https://www.bikeadirondacks.com/boutique-tours)
Route library of road, gravel, and MTB rides (https://www.bikeadirondacks.com/find-ride)
Directory of Area Events (https://www.bikeadirondacks.com/search/area-events)
Cool ADK Themed Cycling Gear (https://bikeadirondacks.square.site/#yWSOHo)

For my part, I’m guiding four (so far) of our custom tours that are scheduled for August and limited to six riders each. (Check out the photos below.) More are in the planning stages for the spectacular fall foliage season.

Our emphasis is on tailoring a Covid-safe riding weekend to your specific wishes. Long miles? OK. Shorter, more leisurely rides? Of course. Big climbs? I can give you those, too. Want some attractions for your family to enjoy while you ride? I know those and can suggest other off bike activities if you want hikes, swimming, or even meeting the world’s largest chicken!

Roadie Weekend – Brant Lake: July 31-August 2 (https://www.bikeadirondacks.com/events/roadie-weekend-brant-lake)
Roadie Weekend – North Creek: August 7-9 (https://www.bikeadirondacks.com/events/roadie-weekend-north-creek)
Gravel Weekend – North Creek: August 14-16 (https://www.bikeadirondacks.com/events/gravel-weekend-north-creek)
Roadie Weekend – Schroon Lake: August 21-23 (https://www.bikeadirondacks.com/events/roadie-weekend-schroon-lake)

Check out our thread in the Vendors Section HERE (https://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=253607) with complete information on all our events and customer tours.

PLUS . . . I’m a photographer with over 30 years of experience, so I will be using my skills to record every ride and send you a collection of images post-ride to help you remember your epic experiences.

Lastly, that discount . . . If you’re a Paceline “Friend of BBDave,” just use the discount code “BikeADK” at checkout and get a 20% discount.

So there you have it. Check out the whole schedule of custom tours HERE (https://www.bikeadirondacks.com/boutique-tours), and I look forward to showing you just how great the riding can be in the ‘Dacks!

Great to see a new sponsor! That is fantastic news. Congratulations to them.
If ever traveling to that geographical area, they are getting my tourism business.

Lots to do within a few hours drive of the 'Dacks. Upstate New York is a great place to do a whole week. Fly into Albany, do one of our tours, and the list of other things within a short drive is long!

Some of the finest riding I've ever done has been in the Adirondacks...great roads with wonderful views. They are as good as it gets IMHO.

Way to go Dave.
Do we have to publicly admit to being a Friend of BBDave to get the discount or can we keep it on the down low?

Ooh nice. My cycling group does a "big Ride" every fall and we try to pick a new locale each year. This year is the Jensie, but next year? I'll check with the powers at be and see if this would be an option for us. It's been a few years since we've travelled east and this looks perfect.

Can you handle 50-80 riders?

This is the first year for custom tours and it's aimed at small groups (planned for no more than 6) because of Covid restrictions. Doug (owner) really had no choice this season but to make all the big events virtual due to the restrictions.

But the last five years he was co-promoter for the week long Cycle Adirondack tour that had as many as 350 people and included both camping and motel options, so he's very familiar with doing large events, and has contacts all over the 'Dacks. Go to the main website big events page HERE (https://www.bikeadirondacks.com/big-events) and check 'em out.

If you want to PM me some contact info I could have him reach out to you and chat about next season.
