I haven't worn cycling gloves in over 20 years, but now that I am doing some MTB rides when on some routes my hands are smacking into trees & bushes.

Gloves seem prudent.

Can anyone recommend a breathable full finger glove? I don't want my hands getting too hot.

My LBS doesn't have anything, so whatever I get will have to be ordered.

I like the Giro DND glove. 4-way stretch, minimal padding, and cheap.

I've been using handup gloves. No padding with some funky designs!

Pretty happy with my Fox gloves. Think they were around $20 on ebay. Buddy uses Troy Lee Designs and likes them.

+1 This.

Seriously, go to Home Depot and look at their work gloves. Many styles and colors. Most actually look like cycling gloves, just a bit beefier. And you can get them for about $10.

As to similar applications, one of my sons picked up a pair of their beefy leather gloves, cut off the fingers and uses them for weight lifting gloves. They do look badass.

At that price it's definitely a good 1st glove to try, and Lowes and Home Depot are just down the street!

I use these year round in the Tucson heat. I bought half a dozen pairs of white ones from Art's on blowout a few years ago for $6 each (presumably because white is a dumb idea) and have only gone through a single pair, I retired them because they were really thin, no holes or rips.

These are a favorite of mine too. What I have been using lately is Velocio MTB/trail gloves. They have more padding are of higher quality.

Handup!

I have a few pairs, really comfortable and fun designs.

Use code BOBO2017 to save 10%.

We have been using 100% gloves for a few years now. No palm padding and they don’t ride up my hands while climbing like Handups.

Big fan of Lizard Skin Monitor AM gloves: https://www.lizardskins.com/product-details?h=monitor-am-jet-black-neon&c=long_finger_gloves&t=monitor_am&v=0

Gloves are generally the first stage of the mountain biker emerging from the roadie chrysalis. Let us know when you need shorts and pads recommendations. :)

I don't ride mountain bikes, but I love my Cuero short finger gloves. I noticed recently that they now sell full fingered gloves (https://www.cuerogloves.com/shop/cuero-cycling-full/). If I was in the market for such a thing, I'd take a look.
