I am building up a Soma Buena Vista Disc frameset for my wife.
Plan was to use an almost new Veloce 10 group that I have laying around...
I’m now having second thoughts since she might want to have lower gearing than what I can do with Campagnolo.
Obviously not a go fast bike, so, 1x10 or 1x11 would be OK but is not a must.

Never built something similar but I assume my best bet is a Shimano or SRAM MTB group?
Needs to be black, any recommendations?

Thanks!

Maybe look at going SRAM Apex 1x11 or even the MicroShift stuff. It's all solid IMO.

Thanks, will check it out.
OldPotatoe will never sell me hubs and spokes again though if I go that route ;)

The micro shift advent stuff gets good reviews and is cheap. 10 or 9 speed. I’ve used some micro shift components (shifters) and the action is a little heavy but crisp and accurate.

Oh also as of a few weeks ago Universal has SLX 7000 (11 speed) components on deep discount. I’ve used that and it’s a great group. You’ll probably want to avoid Shimano 12 and SRAM Eagle (except for NX) unless you’re want to deal with non-road hub drivers.
