I wanted to try the newer Continental grand prix 35mm Urban tire and put a pair on a single speed.
This is a faster tire than most of the urban offerings I have tried. It is a little heavier than a strictly race/training tire but mostly due to the size.
It is really a slightly cosmetically different version of the Grand prix. So you get a nice black reflective strip, black chili compound and a lot more volume. It also feels closer to a fat race tire than a typical commuter or urban tire.
I can see this a great option for a lot of you. I found them on sale at REI for $40 something each. They are priced as a premium tire but it is warranted in my opinion.
