I've seen a couple of those bikes! A guy here local wheelbuilder used to do part time work at Bicycle Johns in N Hollywood- he owned PRISTINE bikes, and a black Nagasawa. It was gorgeous. I still remember it. I think it had Campy Record w downtube shifters.

Yoshiaki Nagasawa = the Japanese Richard Sachs . What RS has been to cross, Nagasawa has been to Keirin (except on a grander scale!).

And I'm still kicking my self years later for walking out of that shop in Tokyo without buying a red one with silver fleck paint...

And this, posted on Vsalon in 2011: https://www.velocipedesalon.com/forum/f2/nagasawa-interview-20545.html
And a short thread in which e-richie shows off a doodle: https://www.velocipedesalon.com/forum/f2/nagasawa-road-bike-19487.html

Classic Rendezvous has something on Nagasawa. He's one of the top framebuilders in Japan, along with Toei, CS Hirose and Cherubim:

They are just beautiful and fine-riding machines with distinctive detailing.

Perhaps one of (if not the) best Japanese built frames one can buy!

Nagasawa bicycles that I have seen in-person have all been simply breathtaking.

I always thought the legend was born because Koichi Nakano happened to ride Nagasawa when he dominated track sprint racing from 77-86. The Japanese love a winner and can be obsessive.

That interview with Sean Easley is great.
However, worry a bit that he's living the same lifestyle (cigarettes, booze, not much exercise) that likely shortened the time we had with Dario P.
Good to hear he's still alive and kicking... although apparently not taking any orders for new frames.
And obviously, this thread needs more Nagasawa bike porn...

Is that original paint, it's the liveliest I've seen on a Nagasawa.

Original paint as far as I know. The name of the person for whom it was built (not mine, shockingly ;-)) is on the top tube.

You could order custom frames through the website track supermarket last year. Not sure if they’re still available to be ordered through track supermarket
