I am looking for a painter here in Florida for a repaint of a lugged steel frame. I have received one recommendation from Paceliner Bentley. Hoping for a couple other recommendations with preference for someone in southwest FL between Tampa and Naples.

Thanks

Is Allan Wanta still active? He is located in Florida somewhere I think.

I cannot comment on any work done by him, but I would think that others here have had work done by him.

Some of the best paint jobs I have seen done locally were done by a cycling buddy who did auto restoration (talking The Breakers type stuff) as his primary business.

I’ve seen some nice work done by custom motorcycle shops too.

If you don’t find a bicycle specific guy, those could be possible options.

I wasn't happy with several aspects of Wantas work he performed on my Merckx. Your mileage may vary.

I had Wanta repaint my Cooper a few year ago, it was a full custom two color paint with red accents, it came out really nice.

I have an Ottrott in with Allan Wanta currently after a lot of referrals on this site. I'm eagerly awaiting it's return.:)

Wanta has done two frames for me, both Serottas. The first one looked good, but had issues with paint hardness...took about two years to fully cure. Second was very disappointing, terrible work. Enter at your own risk.

Framedoctor is a good option.

Another option is Tony at Color Wheel Designs (https://www.facebook.com/colorwheeldesigns/). He's done some really amazing work on projects big and small that I've brought him for myself and for clients at the bike shop where I used to work.

I have lots of experience with Joey at FrameDoctor which has been mentioned for both carbon fiber projects and paint. His work is excellent and he has been very easy to deal and communicate with on every project we have done together so I highly recommend him.
