dear mr. angry,

my cousin tony knew a man named gianni giacomini who built a home near the trunk of his tree. mr. gianni won the amateur road race at the world cycling championships in 1979 riding a spezzotto. nuk nuk nuk, he was nuts!

Based on their website, it does not appear they are currently a SOPWAMTOS member. That is a really beautiful frame.

i look at that and say wow, that is a gorgeous frame.

i look at a modern big bike co. carbon thing that all sorta look the same (esp. with the newfangled rear triangle designs that everyone's copying), and say, eh, appliance.

horses for courses and all that.

It would be really stupid to buy a frame for the paint job. But IF this were my size....Oh Baby! This is incredible to my eye.

Exactly why my 753 Reynolds frame awaits re-furbing. So I don't buy something like that ugly thing!

GAH, that is beautiful!!

Sweet choice for "special/ceremonial" club rides. I totally dig that frame.

I don’t know. They could have fit atleast 10 more “Spezzotto”s on that frame.

Yes, very beautiful paint scheme, however living up to my growing reputation as the “jerk” I am going to say the metal finish work on this frame leaves a lot to be desired. For example this seat stay and chain stay to drop out junction are pretty raw. Don't know that the builder even took the time to properly close of the seat stay tube end, but it does match the non drive side.

Was thinking the same thing when I looked at the eBay listing. It looks like a sort of journeyman production frame, many of which were finished rather roughly. Doesn’t take Much away from the lovely paint or even the ride.

The listing says it was restored. I wonder what was done / what the “before” looked like.

Beautiful restore paint job. But cables on top of top tube make it a no go for me. Always a battle against rust.

I won't put too much coin on what people say about you around here, m pal. Judging by the comments made on the coronavirus-related threads, you can see a wide range of opinions, values, concepts, beliefs, principles - not all good fair, and well-balanced. So, yeah...don't sweat about it, just continue to be yourself, speak your mind, I like to hear it.

I disagree. I think its important to be yourself and speak your mind but being a jerk to people and making them feel inferior is never ok.

But now back to the frame which paint job is awesome.

Also @CNY_rider - lol

I purchased a restored frame from this seller and the work on mine is excellent (see attached pic). This is one of the seller's photos; note that the rear triangle and head tube lugs are painted a gunmetal gray, not chromed. The fork was rechromed.

Pretty sure another TPL member has also seen his work or bought from him.

R3 pal, I know which post you are referring to specifically...here's my take on it. Every day every minute there are pals here who violate bigger infractions that incite hatred, bigotry, xenophobia, narcissism...sometimes in a subtle way, that went unchecked and unnoticed....those are the ones that we need to pay extra attention to and clamp down on. I understand where you are coming from but sometimes personal preference can be expressed in a strong way that borders on offensive. Plus we are living in an exceptional times, who knows what the other person might be going through so...let's cut each other some slack. I am sure m pal got your message or else he wouldn't laugh at himself as a potential Jerk.

Just know this...in all my 50 years of human existence, I have come to realize this simple truth :

The more "holy" and "right" a person insist they are, the less is true of them.

Those who are truly good and right, they never have to say an extra word...because their actions speak for themselves.

Watch for those who argue until their faces turned red and blue....stay far far away from them. Danger!

Back to our regular program.

This should be a stickie at the top of every thread.:)

A nice steel frame can be art. I never spend time looking at photos of carbon frames.
