following shipping my bike across the country, the frame sustained some damage on the down tube from something (I believe a pedal) repeatedly scratching on it. photos attached.
titanium Serotta frame: https://tibikes.wordpress.com/2017/12/02/schwinn-paramount/
what are people's thoughts on how critical the damage is?? can anything be done to repair the frame??
i've been riding quite a bit as is no problem, but always with the fear that it'll cripple one day. would love to confirm/deny my suspicion that i'll find myself on the ground one day.
thanks!!

That looks like just paint damage. If you want to be sure, you can use solvents or fingernail to scratch away a larger area of paint to see more around it, but if you're not seeing any indents into the metal itself it should be fine.

just looks like paint damage.
I would carefully spot fill in so the chipping doesn't spread- or get it to a painter to fix it.
structurally, no, you won't kill yourself... unless the paint starts peeling off in sheets

great to hear. I don't mind if the paint is not perfect, just wanted to be certain the frame was structurally sound... thanks all!!

Send some pictures to Waterford and ask them what it would take to make that happen. ( $$$ )
Or, have a local painter touch it up as best s/he can. ($$)
Or DIY ($)

Aesthetic blemish, nothing structurally worrisome.

That is a beauty. As others have said, it's just a scratch in the paint. Probably a good idea to touch it up or at least clear-coat it so that the paint doesn't chip more. Since it's titanium, nothing will happen to the frame underneath...

In that case, the OP's in real trouble and I'm afraid it's going to get worse.

Also, that damage is superficial as far as I can tell. That frame should hold up to anything. However, if your ready to replace it I have a nice Seven that is same size for sale;)

Did Waterford paint the Ti Paramount? Don't believe so.
