Bicycling magazine march issue did a 5 page article on Dario. Article sucks as we've come to expect from bicycling. Don'y buy read it at the news stand, will take about 30 sec. Same issue does have a fun article about the best climbs across the usa. Many here will see their fav. climbs in print.

. . . it's a photo feature. It's not supposed to be an in-depth analysis of Dario, his business, or his philosophy. It's strictly a photo-oriented feature and they do it every month on various photogenic subjects. It's just to look at for fun. Be fair to the mag--it's still not the greatest in the world, but they HAVE improved a great deal in the past year . . .

If you REALLY want an exhaustive review of Dario's thoughts and artistic despair, go read the competitive Cyclist web site! ;)

I was pretty excited the Suck Creek Mountain climb in Chattanooga, TN showed up. It's a personal favorite of mine for the epic beauty. Admidst the adrenalin high I always contemplate the irony of a beautiful climb, and how something so pretty can hurt so bad. My fastest time is 24:37. (5.8mi., 5.4% avg grade, 1,566 FVG)

It's very hard to judge a climb by it's description. I've done a few of those and there always much harder than you would think looking at the numbers. Canton Ave. 0.03 mi 37% avg 60 fvg [QUOTE]

Bicycling tires to be too many things and therefore is not that good at any of them, just IMO. Whenever I am travelling and can't find anything else at the airport I will still pick up a copy but usually left wating much more. Not a bad mag, just that if you are into road or MTB there are better, more specialised mags out there.

phew.
37% is a wall.

in england they rate climbs like 1 in 3...being 33%
1 in 4= 25%, etc

steepest i ever saw was 1/3...
i could no more ride up that that up the side of a building.
saw the sign, got off the bike...
walked and pushed.
