Crazy! What a beautiful country though, worth watching just for the scenes.

One of the more beautiful countries I have ever lived in. Incredible variety of jaw-dropping terrain.
Some of the best people in the world, too.

Nice! Must have been a great experience. Did you do any riding there too?

I drove through them over a couple days about 5 years ago. We had the tiniest automobile I have ever driven and actually cracked a rim somehow. Backing up up along those one-lane mountain roads to find an outcrop with a cliff on one side while large trucks came the other direction was one of the more enlivening experiences I've had. Biking would be incredible.
I second the beauty of the place and the loveliness of the people. There are still many nomadic berbers. Many of the settled folks that have self-taught themselves 5+ languages. One group we met said they learned English by watching soap operas and practicing. Everyone was very kind and quick to smile.
Should you ever find yourself out that way, I heartily recommend a night or two here:

The fellow that owns it went out into the desert with his dog and a pickaxe and carved caves into the side of the gorge. He then proceeded with "continuous improvement." It's a neat experience.

I lived in Morocco as well, for about 3 years. I was young, went to high school in Casablanca. Did not get to explore as much as I should, was a teenager so was not into a lot of cool stuff :P But I agree, beautiful country and the people are some of the best I will also agree with that. I need to get back and do some exploring, still know a lot of people there.
