a 35 sec iPhone video that is so-so from my street. They were going slow, so not so loud.

Please, no political comments. I posted it because I love watching cool planes fly, and it's not often you get to see a formation like that.

They are going to be here tomorrow and flying directly over our house right when my kid is napping. Hoping they don't wake him up.

Pretty cool.

Looks like a fighter group and their “gas station” headed somewhere important.

The Blue Angels are doing a flyover of Atlanta tomorrow. The flight path has been published and I've already got my viewing location picked out.

Supposed to be 7 F-35's and 7 F-16's, the National guard added more, not sure what.

These flights are in place of the flyovers they’d otherwise do at sports events and commencements right? I always thought those weren’t total wastes of tax payer dollars because they were necessary for pilot flight hours. At least fuel is cheap now too

a lot of time before they do military flyovers at the Penn State stadium, they do orbits that go over my house. Always a little weird when that happens and I'm happy when they finally zoom off to go over the stadium.

I'm under the impression that this was all rolled into required training hours. It's unlikely that the taxpayer incurred any extra expense. We see F-35's on occasion on this side of the valley, usually much loader and faster. You can tell the difference between an F-35 and an F-16 (both fly from Luke), nothing sounds like an F-35.

I really wish one would have hit the afterburners and climbed!

Eagles and Vipers?

Looked like a KC-135 and a bunch of F-16s, I guess some F-35s but couldn't tell. No F-15s based at Luke...
"Same day, same way":)

Luke is a training base in that they train new pilots to fly these 'fleet' jets..

I was there for 4 months in 1978, learning the USAF way of doing things on the way to an USAF Exchange gig, F-4D, summer...when there, they say they set a record..over 100 degrees, 24 hours a day, for 10 days..it was hot.

We watched them from our terrace facing East in old town that has views to the north past the McDowells over to the four peaks and down to the San tan mountain range. They flew diagonally from Gilbert and Mesa area directly towards us then buzzed by heading into north Scottsdale.

It was awesome and loud. My 6yp daughter loved it.

Love the F4, beautiful plane.
We get flyovers of all the Ospreys and C130s at Kirtland, and quite a lot of F-18 traffic. I'd love to get F-35s, never seen them in action.

When my folks had a place at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri we always enjoyed and cheered when we would be relaxing on the boat or in the water on a raft and next thing you know a pair of A-10s would do low flyby and just rattle your eardrums

By far my favorite bird !!

Way back when, about the time oldpotatoe was flying, I had a friend who was a civilian firefighter at Sayer AFB in the UP of MI. B-52's were stationed there. He took me way out one day, through the woods, until we got to Lake Superior. He said, just wait. Before long a whole flight of B-52's came over the lake at what looked like about 100', doing a practice radar evasion/bombing run.

Jet noise is the sound of freedom!!

Served in the Air Force for 24 yrs, half was spent working on F-15s. I miss hearing them. Wish the Blue Angels would come to Colorado. The Thunderbirds were here for the USAF Academy graduation but it was just a brief flyover on the other side of town in very low clouds.

I smell a military recruiting mission. With COVID all recruiting offices are closed and everything is being done online with limited results. Yeah it's great to pay homage to health care workers but do not forget the first objective of aerial teams...more recruits.

Thanks for your service...:)It's funny but all these 4th gen jets are now 'legacy' jets..F15, F16, F18...all introduced in the 70s, 80s...yes, more modern models but still, design is over 40 years old...

Of course..BUT I imagine recruitment is pretty healthy right now with 30 MILLION out of work.

Thanks, great photos.

I doubt we will ever see something like that again.

I've been close to lots of different jets taking off, but the loudest and most impressive by far was the time I was about 200yds away from an SR-71 rolling out. The noise coming from it dwarfed anything I've ever heard.
