I have a set of those bars listed in the Classifieds, 42 c-c. Would let go cheap. Also a silver 31.8 seatpost collar to match your headset, if that's the diameter you need.

But also, when in doubt, black it out.

I’m leaning alloy as well....for some reason I feel like the alloy bits give it a steel feel, this is titanium/carbon Ottrott and wonder if the blackout look on parts/wheels would look good. Still on hunt for some Campy 10 speed wheels if anyone holding.

I think the Ritchey stuff will look good, though with my white Ottrott (https://forums.thepaceline.net/showpost.php?p=2630147&postcount=25) I'm gradually migrating to full white except the seat post -- currently Thomson silver but always on the hunt for an Eriksen or other ti post. The ti on mine is not painted though -- with yours I think all white might be overkill.

When the time comes I'll add white cable housings and hoods.

Either choice will look great with that frame! Is that a painted Ottrott? Gorgeous, whatever it is.

I do love shiny bits but that frame screams to be blacked out like an @#*& Stormtrooper!

I think on a white frame with those graphics silver components will look better than black. You don't want too much white (white saddle and bar tape might IMO be too much of a good thing) either, and throw in some black here and there for highlights.

Justin nailed it. Those parts would look great.

Alloy, yes. Ritchey, no. Gotta go Zipp with the cockpit. Black with white lettering.

what's wrong w/ Ritchey?

Nothing. I just find Zipp to be of superior quality, that's all.

Leaning towards black right now after trying few mock ups...might wait for the right wheels to come through before final decision.

Before I get started on putting together if anyone has a 54-55 unpainted version of this and would be interested in trade let me know! I’m in the “titanium should not be painted) crowd. The ride on these has always been great so look forward to riding either way.

Is it GS or ST/custom? I.e., seat stay bearings or not? Just curious

I can't recall whose bike this was in the gallery (a Legend ARO iirc), but I snagged the photo as an all-white inspiration:

Leaning towards black right now after trying few mock ups (..)

Bingo.

For better or worse, black components swing "modern" and silver components swing "retro". An Ottrott is a very modern bike, especially with the carbon seat stays, so black is better. Alloy Campy might clash, though.

You might like white bar tape once the black hoods go on.

Silver or chrome is not always great with white imo. However titanium esp if beadblasted can look fantastic against white.

Just thought id make your budget crack .)

I agree too, that stuff would make the bike POP!

Back in those days black was not a commonly used alloy color, if you want to maintain the original classic look then silver is the only way to go to get that classic vintage look.

Nothing. I just find Zipp to be of superior quality, that's all.

Quality? Search both brands for product recalls. In the past ten years none for Ritchey, Zipp, several. Keep in mind Zipp is also a SRAM subsidiary, the industry leader in recalls and quality issues.

Check the newer stuff...it ain't gonna get recalled, I'll tell ya that....FAR superior two-bolt clamp design for perfect saddle adjustment. Awesome finish/construction of stem. We're talkin' ALLOY here...would never use carbon for those parts. Plus, I just don't like to say "Ritchey". Reminds me of Happy Days and the Fonz or something. But if Ritchey smokes yer shorts, by all means go for it.

The reason why I said Silver Ritchey is because of the Silver that Serotta and the other logos are on the frame. And being Ritchey the logos themselves are subdued and clean. Monochromatic always goes well together. Gives it that refined look. Will also make the Silver Logos pop more on the frame.

Can’t go wrong on the Ritchey components. Among the best in reliability/durability.

Time will tell on the newer stuff. As for alloy vs. carbon, SRAM/Zipp has more quality issues than most competitors with both.

‘Happy Days and the Fonz or something’. Someone is watching too many reruns.

Initial plan was alloy build but then I bought the wheels off the SV being sold here and we then worked out a deal for the groupset that was too good to pass up. The Campy Record and wheels are a nice fit, much better than alloy....now I have to go find a frameset for the Campy 10;)
