Dang, $500 for a single bike carrier and 2" only out of the gate. Tough sell, especially with the very close resemblance to 1upUSA. That's almost $200 more than my quick rack was from 1up.

It is a 1UP

Seems to be a new licensing deal. Talk about things that are built better than they need to be.

Crazy long thread about Cal over at MTBR in cars and racks forum. Its not 1UP USA, Cal was an original proprietor at 1UP USA, left or was bought out and started up his "new" company.

Yeah, best of luck to him really, more competition could mean better products for us. I wonder how much it weighs? Found it - 35 lbs plus 25 lbs for each additional tray. So its about 12 lbs heavier than a 1UP Double,

Read the mtbr string.

I started but it's loooooong!

I just read this https://www.1upusahistory.com/

I don't know much about it all but thought I read about a license deal.

Am I to believe what Cal wrote and that his side of the story is the legit one?

Just a mild curiosity really. Partnerships can be rather messy to say the least.

Cheers

I got tired of waiting on Cal almost a year ago and bought an original 1up. no complaints.
