You sold it to me, and I sold it back to you. I need an accountability partner for these things. No one on this forum would have permitted me to do such a thing.

In all fairness though, the headtube was ridiculous.

I’ve gone in a few times, I live on the east coast but had business in SF and North Bay. He has a collection of beautiful bikes in the shop, but every Peg I asked about, more than 5, was not for sale.
He has a pile of Baums

That article + cabin fever has me looking at my bikes and convincing myself to make unnecessary upgrades...

I’ve owned 2 Peg’s and have hated the head tubes on both of them.

You're not looking at the headtube when you're riding the thing, and they ride like a treat.

I'm stoked to see what they do with the Mosaic. The white + ti is a great combo.

Should have gone with 59 tt with a 140 stem and snipped the HT if necessary

The generous head tube length allows it to be cut to a preferred length. I did this on mine, and the result was a perfect length and aesthetic.

Really nice job. I read the same article and was surprised he fit Corsa Control 28s on a Marcelo. I have Corsa 25s on mine with SR 12 callipers and assumed anything wider is a no go. Anyone else tried 28s?

+1 .... I love to see painted Ti frames - these guys do a great job from what I’ve seen online - http://www.blackmagicpaint.com/moots-vamoots-disc-rsl-splatter

Lovely, I’m partial to black and white pegs myself.
To those pointing out the head tube, why? Pick the right size frame and ride it with a setback seatpost, slammed -17 stem, and classic bars. Make the master proud.

Shoulda coulda woulda - needs 1-2cm chopped off the head-tube, a -17 (or at least -12), reposition the head-badge, and it's good..

No issues here. Headtube like that, slammed stems are compulsory. I stupidly sold my Responsorium a couple years ago, but have since managed to obtain a Love #3.
If I get a chance to own a 60+cm Marcelo or Respo, best be sure I will be on it.

Oh Lordy I am getting Pegregretti for you. [emoji853]All that needed was a Rotundo Pro, not looping off the signature head tube!

What's all this talk about tall headtubes on Pegoretti frames?
Now here's a tall headtube:

I bought SoCalSteve's Big Leg Emma in late 06 or early 07. I was stationed in Hawaii at the time. I had a Fina Estampa at the time, it went to a good home. I rode it all over Sardinia and central mainland Italy. In 2014, the paint was coming off the downtube around the FD clamp. I cleaned it up and put a band of black paint around the tube and rode it for the rest of the year. I took it to Southwest Frameworks in Dallas where it got new paint and since Dave Cheakas is a frame builder as well, I got him to add an FD braze-on. The Reynolds Ouzo fork was painted to match. Still rode like a BLE, tall head tube, and all. Last year I noticed that the paint was cracked around the fork crown area. I went through Summer Cycles in Del Mar (Jerk) to get a Falz sent with a King race installed. So now the frame and fork don't match, but the Falz complements that frame.
It was originally built with Record 10 in 2007. I went to Record 11 in late 08 and was built with new Chorus 11 (four-arm) in 2016. The new stuff originally had a compact crankset and a small cassette. Hated it. Now it has a 36/52 and a 12-25. Like butter.
I have had some wonderful road bikes. Nothing rides nicer than my Mxxxxxo.
I know a lot of it is in my head. It might in part be my admiration for Dario as a man or his reputation as a frame builder. It is not the fastest nor the lightest, but it is the last bike I could part with. Maybe someday I will upgrade to the latest Campy gruppo or treat myself to Ceramic Speed and Clavicula.

Boy, I could make good use of that headtube.
