I am looking for photos of cool bike shops. Great interiors, displays, and inventory. The kind of place that you want to hang out at.

You could start by checking out the Classic Rendezvous shops listed here:

CyclingTips has done a few articles on shops with good photos. Here's their 2018 review. In it are links to their previous articles.

Wheelworks in Belmont MA is a fun place to browse. Maybe not super-hip with coffee bar, etc, but very droolworthy.

Drummonds in Enfield NH is pretty small, but a fun, cool spot to check out if in the area (Dartmouth, Sunapee, Mt Cardigan).

I guess this would be considered a shop of sorts, and when I visited there was plenty of eye candy. John was really nice and knowledgeable.

Corsa Corsa in Tokyo.

Steel Vintage in Berlin.

Not a bike shop, but the Assos store in London is pretty cool.

When I go back to Philly for Thanksgiving, I always make it a point to drive through Washington's Crossing, up to New Hope, and hang a right over the bridge to Lambertville, NJ to visit WheelFine Imports. It's a cycling museum.

although I prefer a little more patina on my bike shops this place is super nice. Highest of the highest end bike stuff. I used to work right around the corner when I lived in Seattle and when I came for a visit my buddy took me there and now is this cool bike shop/cafe. I wondered how this place would do, rent gotta be high. Hope it stays open because its indeed pretty nice

Anyone have interior shots?

Two from an internet search. When I was there last (grabbing some wheels from a forum member), when I walked in, there was at least three grail bikes on stands, one of the classics on a flat screen and some delicious smelling coffee. I was in a company truck (commercial) that was double parked or I could have hung there all day.

If you own a small shop in the bike biz, last thing you need is overhead, slow moving "halo" inventory and tire kickers show-rooming your "halo" product and generally wasting your time. The perfect shop layout minimizes the above and maximizes anything that churns into profit. You can start by having no seats for customers:)

As the first owner I worked for used to tell customers, "What do you want, this place isn't a museum"

A good shop definitely has some patina...and some attitude. Should smell like an old general store, too

Architectural marvels don't last long in the biz

The author may not be aware, but most folks in Nebraska giggle inside when a Californian comes around

By the way, Go Big Red is a cheer, greeting, pick up line and a term of endearment
