I’m building up a Seven Evergreen and need to purchase 12mm thru axles. Does anyone have a brand recommendation for decent quality axles at a more frugal price point than DT Swiss or Robert? Thx.

I don't think PMW thru axles are cheap but they are the best IMO. To the OP make sure the thread pitch is correct and the TA length is spot on. Different branded TA lengths will very by 3mm or so for a standard length like 100 or 148mm.

I learned the hard way that all through axles are not alike. I REALLY liked the Mavic Speed Release QR through axles. I found they were FAR easier to install/remove than others. However... the threading on them did not work for my frame's dropouts.

My frame has 1.5 threading, whereas the Mavic Speed Release are M12x2 P1, according to their box I'm looking at now.

I highly recommend these, if they fit your frame/fork. I have some available, not so coincidentally. (12x100 & 12x142)
