Interesting guy. He has forgotten way more about VWs that I have ever known. Any idea why in some vids he carries a big-arse hunting knife on his hip in some videos?

I've been watching them since well before pandemic...Corning Mueseum of Glass videos. I find them very relaxing to watch, the technical process, artist skill, and asthetic choices keep me coming back.

Some are 1.5 hours long and a few go as long as 3+ hours but to me the process and end result is worth it.

As an aside, I was signed up for a series of classes at a local glass studio but then COVID hit so that is on hold until classes can start up again.

That used to be my hobby: rebuilding late 80s MTBs. Then searching for parts became too much of a time svck and i quit but the one bike i still lust for is a Ritchey team comp. Much harder to find than Ascents although any Ritchey rides beautifully.

So good!

I noticed that he never faced that frame or cleaned those threads. Kinda weird after all that.

Brings back memories though for sure. My Ritcheys were fun to ride if not the most durable things. That said they were cutting edge racing bikes not Raleigh 3 speeds.

Anything worth watching while I'm on the trainer?

Bicycle content, I really only watch vlog type content nowadays. Dustin Klein's channel, aptly named "Everything's Been Done", has a fun vibe, and is not taking himself too seriously. Vegan Cyclist is okay too, takes himself a little more seriously. Ted King is always good to catch up on.

TrainerRoad podcast used to be good (pre-2023), now it's a slog since Amber and now Chad left. Worth watching some of the prior episodes though.

I'll watch the race recaps for the Lifetime Grand Prix, but I'm caught up already.

Huberman Labs is interesting podcast material, goes into the neuroscience of a lot of everyday things.

Cleetus McFarland is a good one if you're into all sorts of racing and flying. Mainly about building his drag cars but there's a bunch of other awesomeness like flying his plane, helicopter, racing those ridiculous jet boats, and has some absolutely amazing giveaway cars that he films with. He bought a circle track right next door to Bradenton motorsports park (drag strip) and revamped it which he has a bunch of videos on. Dude is a class act too

I confess that I don't, but I have to say that A Sunday in Hell is part cycling, part art. It's a beautiful film. If you haven't watched it, you're missing something special (in my humble opinion).

I do the audio version of this regularly, and I agree. I don't dislike the current crew, but I miss the Amber/Chad days. Its sorta repetitive and dullish now, and I get sick of the Keegan sycophancy.

Some more content for the car nerds, if you're into engine swaps and fabrication.

They're a UK based shop, the owner Phil is more about knowledge rather than being a loud, brash "Youtuber", which is hard to find nowadays. Lots of BMW content currently, but he will work on anything.

There are a LOT of annoying automotive YouTubers. Cammisa's material is just so much better. I love Chris Harris's reviews as well. Outside of those two, the other one that I really like is Harry's Garage: https://www.youtube.com/@harrysgarage/videos . Great stuff - both new and classic!

I really enjoy watching Harry's Silverstone Auction previews - I try to name every car before he does :-) The variety of cars gets a bit repetitive after you watch a few of them but truly drool-worthy.

And of course, in the same family, Iain Tyrrell's Classic Workshop https://www.youtube.com/@iain_tyrrell. Truly immersive history and tinkering content on legendary vintage cars. Great vibe.

For a while I was also into Tedward's unique test drive videos as well: https://www.youtube.com/@TedwardDrives

For bike stuff I like Dustin Klein's videos as well as this guy Chris https://www.youtube.com/@pnwbikepacking for adventure cycling. There are a few euro channels I like for FOMO roadie touring in Europe such as https://www.youtube.com/@clippedinandfree and others.
