Wondering who might be using one o' these? . . .

https://k-edge.com/shop/computer-mounts/garmin-mounts/gopro-garmin-combo-mount/

I looks like the light mount just slips into the NiteRider light's existing shoe mount, so no modifications are needed to the light.

True?

Thanks.

Used one of these with a Go Pro instead, worked great.

. . .need drilling or modifications to use with the mount?

The light mount shown in this K-Edge pic has the K-Edge logo on it, but I can't tell . . . does that screw go into the Nite Rider light? Would I have to drill a hole in my light?

Nope, bolted right in. As long as your light has that mount, nothing to drill. Just a 3 mm allen bolt and you're done.

According to the KEdge website, there screws are there just to retain the adapter on the light like a set screw. No drilling should be required for the light.

See this link: https://k-edge.com/shop/light-and-action-camera-mounts/light-camera-accessories/niterider-adapter/

I use one, and no modifications are needed. If I recall I had to buy the nite-rider hot shoe that goes into the light separately.

It's not cheap but it is nice.

If you don't already have the NR Light, Light & Motion has a similar option in its "Urban" series. Works great with a K-Edge combo (or similar aluminum mount), totally solid.

Here's mine:

Thanks. I didn't see that on their site. One more thing to buy, but then I just leave it on there.

Thanks!

I use my gravel bike for night time and bad weather riding, so just put on bracket and leave it. Thanks.

I too have one of these K-Edge mounts and a Light & Motion light -- no modification needed, the only problem I had was that the first few times I mounted the light the threading was extremely tight, hard to align, but after that it's pretty simple. The K-Edge is on the pricey side, though, was lucky to get a discount code from a friend.

K-Edge, Enve, Barfly, and other manufacturers all offer this now. There is likely a GoPro adapter for every light out there by now, either direct from the manufacturer or 3D printed on Shapeways.com

I have the exact same setup on two bikes (k-edge combo mount and niterider light). Rock solid and no drilling required. The adapter is fixed to the light by two small screws which bite into the casing a little bit. Not a big deal in my opinion but this does mean if you want to remove the light you’d have to unscrew at least the screw between the adapter and the gopro mount, and potentially those between the adapter and the light too if you want to swap the light onto a normal handlebar mount for example.

Interesting that the NightRider light doesn't clip into the mount for easy on/off but it's instead bolted to the mount.

Compared to my Bontrager Ion that slips on and off with the unlocking of the tab here:

I bought this piece (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tripod-Monopod-Mount-Adapter-for-GoPro-HD-Hero-2-3-3-4-5-SHIPS-FREE/124152625103?hash=item1ce812b7cf:g:O1QAAOSwyd1eggx y) for $5 and glued it to my Enve out front mount.

$5 and 10 minutes.

(the bottom piece is a bontrager adapter for my bontrager light)

For those with the kedge mount, do you have problems with the screws coming loose?
