Love it! I did 2.5 days in a 16' uHaul with two others....

it wouldn't hurt my feelings if this crisis put the record out of reach for everyone in the future.

As if they need anything else, there is quite a bit of street racing in NYC right now. My view is they should crush the cars.

i just drove from NYC to Colorado on thurs/fri and was thinking to myself that these are prime conditions for a new cannonball record. I passed at least 6 state troopers with my cruise control set between 90-95 and not a one came after me.

Not surprising. No asterisk in my book, it is what it is.

Favorable handicap with no one else to speak of on the Interstates I figure...

"The average speed on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway has gone from 13 miles per hour to 52."

I bet.

Wannabes like the idiot who totaled the 1-of-25 Porsche Gemballa "cannonballing" it in Manhattan.

Why would you do that? Unless you had a carload of necessary supplies....

Great, another refugee from the Big Apple has joined us. I guess it could be worse, he might have been from California. We definitely need to build the wall.

The negatives for this run were that Waze is not getting enough input to be very helpful and Waze is important to these runs.

Also, there a lot of trucks on the road now.

I was surprised the car was an Audi A8L.

Under the influence of drugs.

He has crashed quite a few supercars.

That seems like a pretty great car for something like this imo.

That would be my choice too, except make mine a TDI.

The 1st 10 days of USA Covid, I was on a cancelled travel vacation and pretty much at home. Once back to work and noticing the daily decline in traffic, Gumball was one of the 1st things that came to mind.

Traffic accidents/crashes however have not declined much. People are just paying less attention... because they think they can.

I agree. If you want to race get out on a race track.

Lived in Co from age 12 to 27, staying in my parents empty house in Greeley for 14 days. Brought a car full of 3 bikes, enough food to last the 14 days, and very little else. Only stopped for bathroom, gas and water, & slept in the car to avoid any and all human contact. Just staying until my shop reopens (unless I can swing this into a remote working forever type thing).

(and I moved FROM CO TO CA):hello:
