What exactly are they testing? Tons of pressure to the point of deformation of some sort? Fuzzy on that. I get the 110 ton test.

the first squashing does seem arbitrary.

Go to the youtube channel, they squish a lot of stuff. Very interesting to watch. He also tested bike parts to destruction

50% of the entertainment factor is the press the other his accent and comments.

The accent is awesome. People have tried to copy him, but they don't have the accent and sense of humor

Yeah, that channel is pretty cool. Some things they squash are lame but others you really wanna see the outcome.
The voice does add to the entertainment.

Agreed. Like the squishy thing at the end. But it was cool to see the ti cube kill his baseplate.

one of the grad students that worked in my lab was obsessed trying to fold paper 7 times, which is supposed to be impossible. I think the hydraulic press channel finally answered that question to everyone's satisfaction.

Mythbusters did it too. They used the old blimp hanger in Mountain View to do it.
