Found what looked like a great deal on Vittoria Pave CG tubulars, with the green stripe. Listed as 700c 27c, but they don't even come close to clearing the calipers. The tire label says '30-28"' (see photo below), so I'm unsure if they sent the wrong ones, the product was misrepresented on the site, or I'm just clueless about the myriad models. Before I decide on return or posting a WTT, thought I'd check with more knowledgeable folk. Thanks.

in vittoria speak, that is a 30mm 700c tire. the 28 is their nomenclature for 700c.

similar to here, where this is a 23mm tire, again, 700c

As Angry said. But I wasn't aware they made 30mm in the Pave's?

Thanks Nick. That means they sent me the wrong product, a 30mm, when what was listed was 27c, yes? ** EDIT: I was typing this when someone else answered above, thanks **

Dang…thanks all.

I've inquired about return process, but if anyone reading this is drooling over 30mm Paves and would like to either buy them or offer something more narrow and relatively equivalent in trade, give me a shout.

Why not just keep them? Or did you say they don't fit w/i your brake calipers?

if they fit in your bike i would definitely keep em....30c paves sound like a dream.

That's curious. I don't ever recall seeing anything from Vittoria about making Paves in 30mm. At one point they went to 28s from 27s but I thought 30s only came out when they did the Corsa and then the Pave replacement Corsa Control.... And yes, they do sound like a dream! If I wasn't so happy with my Veloflex Vlaanderens, didn't have several still hanging, and didn't care about matching my tan sidewalls these could be a wonderful ride....

Yeah, they sound like a dream to me, too, but…not even close. Not even fully inflated (in case the picture's not clear, the wheel won't even turn)

That's nothing a good file or dremel won't cure.

You know, a real Paceliner would use this as justification for a new bike.

I got a couple of bikes that will fit the tires nicely, one of which is the Rivendell Road Standard but alas, I had been on a self-imposed bike spending moratorium for the last 6 months... :p

I did order a dozen of the 27mm black version cg paves before the lockdown but with the shipping, it's probably not worth the trouble.

Amusing. If the price of accepting the title of "unreal Paceliner" is keeping my Ottrott, I'll pay it.

Who said anything about selling the Ottrott?

Just add another for n+1. ;)

I don't ride Vittoria's so I don't know much about them, but if folks in the know have never seen or heard of that model I would be worried about counterfeit goods.

Mine just arrived and exactly the same thing - sold as a 27, but arrived and clearly marked on the sidewall as a 30 and measure up accordingly with a set of calipers.

I've got a set of 27s in storage already so I'm going to keep these are true unicorns - but they may not fit on the bike I had intended them for!

I am curious too where did you find 30 mm Vittoria tubulars, and with the fabled green stripe?

They were from Chain Reaction Cycles, £30/ea and then a 10% clearance discount code. But looking now they are gone - not sure if that’s because someone grabbed them all, or there were complaints about the sizing and they took them off the site. In either event, the unicorn gallops off into the sunset....

Ditto, that's where I got mine, and someone else saw the 27s listed at Planet X last week. They won't fit on any of my bikes so they're either going back for an exchange or to another Paceliner. Smoking deal though -- I see several pairs of 27s that have sold on eBay recently for just under $130 plus shipping, presumably unicorns would fetch more if one were inclined to opportunism.

never seen 30 mm of those, and I thought 27 and 28 was already too much. Thats like for a CX bike or a touring bike maybe? For the price I think there's not like a big deal but if the OP doesnt have a bike to use them, hell yes.. frustrating!!
