I'm experiencing a severe creak when I pedal hard. In trying to identify the source, I've ruled out my saddle, pedals, shoes, cockpit, skews, and chainrings. My cassette (Ultegra R8000 11sp 11-34), chain (Dura Ace), and RD (Ultegra R8000) are new. At this point it's either the BB or cassette. I plan to install new BB (Dura Ace); but, I think the creak comes the cassette/spacer/hub. With the current spacer, the cassette lockring tightened snugly.
What size (i.e., thickness) spacer should be used with a Shimano R8000 11sp cassette and a DT Swiss 240 hub?
Thanks in advance. EWO

What material frame? I'd remove, clean, and reinstall the bb as the likely culprit. Skewers are a common creak spot too. What kind are you using and are the dropouts good and clean?

I cleaned the skews and dropouts. Frame is a Ti - Moots Vamoots CR.

Ride w/o cycling shoes-
Ride w/ different pedals-
Swap to another rear wheel
THEN look at BB..

Remove, clean, and regrease the seatpost, then reassemble.

Listen to the wise elder spud. What pedals are you using? I chased an annoying creak for over a year before finding it was the (Shimano SPD) pedal/cleat interface. I had ridden SPDs for over 20 years without a creak, but this particular pedal/cleat pairing was noisy. Regular application of Boeshield quieted the problem.
