If the brakeset is slotted, and the brakes can be adjusted up or down are the two interchangeable in some cases? Speaking of Canti brakes .

As long as your brake pads can reach and you have frame clearance then you can use whatever wheels you want!

25/2=12.5

1/2 inch of adjustment is a little long for most cantilever brakes. Paul motolite v brakes have a lot of adjustment. The brakes will have a different amount of power in each position. Less power in the 650b position when the pads are higher on the arms.

I would definitely take some measurements before hopping into this. 12.5mm is a big change.

And, of course, this would only work if the bike has posts designed for 26" wheels opposed to 650B.
