Hi All-
Anyone know of any issues with mixing 10/11 when it comes to cranksets with campy? Having trouble finding an alloy compact in 10 speed.

Thanks,
Zac

No issue, no problem, no modifications required..Still use a 10s chain.
'Might' have some chain tickling big ring when in small ring when in smallest cogs but that's all.

Zero problem.

The spacing between the front chainrings is the same, from 6 to 12.

The spacing between the REAR sprockets varies.

The width of the chain varies, getting narrower as the gears get more plentiful.

You can almost always use the newer (slightly narrower) front chainrings with wider earlier chains, with virtually no problems.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Occasionally, and must be tested, you can use a superior, later narrower chain, with earlier rear cogs. (aka Sram 12 speed chain on 11 speed)

Definitely be sure to use the exact front derailleur however. The way the chain is "lifted" from chainring to chainring is very specific, as is how far the rear of the derailleur clears the bottom of the chain on small small

Not really. 9s, the small ring was closer to the big ring and 10s saw some relieving on the big ring where it touched the crank spider, that made it closer to the small ring.

Like on right hand picture.

I am running Campy 11s cranks on 2 bikes that have Campy 10s drivetrains. One uses a 10s chain, the other 11s. I don't notice a difference in the shifting.

Do you mean a 10 speed derailleur?

From my experience, the derailleur matching the chainring size is most important. So matching the 39 tooth, or whatever you have chosen. 9-10-11 doesnt seem to make as much of a difference

Kinda why Campag nixed their 'compact' front ders since the normal, non compact worked just fine and sometimes even better. With the superior LH ERGO shifter, being an ratcheting friction, any front der will do even an 's' brand one.

Not really that important, IME..

If you have ticking twixt chainrings, Wheels MFG aka QBP,
makes .6mm chainring spacers.
