I would like to spend my idle time by watching some Spring Classics. Can anyone recommend some of the best to start with?

oh good idea!

maybe we can figure a time to all watch one at the same time, and comment the next day!

Are they really going to happen? Or hijacked by Corona too?

Most of them are postponed. I don't know if that means later in the year or next Spring.

Sorry for the recency bias

1989 UCI World Championship
1994 Fleche (for the sheer madness of it all, YOLO! part 1)
1992 MSR
1999 Liege (for the sheer madness of it all, YOLO! part 2)
2010 Flanders and Roubaix
2011 Flanders and Roubaix
2013 Roubaix
2013 UCI Worlds (skip to the last three laps)
2015 Gent Wevelgem
2016 Roubaix
2019 Amstel

Stage 7 of 2010 Giro (effectively a Classics stage)

ETA: for the sheer cheek of it, 2015 Het Nieuwsblad

Maybe it's already listed above as I can't recall what year it was, but the Paris Roubaix with the epic battle between Museeaw and Schmeil is an all time classic

I'd add stage 19 of the 2005 Giro. One of the best clutch descents of all time.

2002 Paris Roubaix
* Museeuw puts in a good (probably "juiced") attack
* Hincapie goes for a swim in a drainage ditch
* Boonen puts the cycling world on notice

There are some great suggestions here.
All the suggested Paris-Roubaix are great.
Strade Bianche is much more recent, but any year is fantastic to watch.

I do not if videos are available for all these, or for other great years, but since it would have been raced just 5 days ago on March 21:
Milano – Sanremo:
2018
2009
2008
2004 (never count your chickens before…)
1992
1990
1976 (because it was the last of the 7)
1974
1966 (because it was the first of the 7)

No love for the Race of the Fallen Leaves??

1952 P-R Coppi v Van Steenbergen. Dont think there is a video. I read about it in Cyclesport. Steenbergen bridges. Coppi cant shake him.

1980 LBL. The classics counterpart to 1988 Giro. Stupid, stupid weather, riders ill-clothed. I think 12 riders finished, including Paul Sherwen.

Still one of the best: A Sunday in Hell. Just watched again on You-tube. It’s 1 3/4 hrs- a lot are 3-4 hours and I can’t sit still that long. Love the old steel, Campy equipped bikes- reminds me of what it was like when I started racing.
