Hi!

I have a bike-crush on jdp's rock lobster. i would like to add a similar front bag to what he has going on here:

and this is what my fork looks like:

i would like to avoid entirely using the canti studs for the rack, so it can be taken on/off easily without touching the brakes.

any ideas?

These work especially if you want black. How large a bag do you want?

fair question.

i already own a nice Swift rando bag, which is pretty small, i'll probably get something larger for big days and lite touring.

I love the KlickFix system. I have one Rixen and Kaul bag and a klickFix mount on four of my bikes.

The Crust rack would be plenty strong without the rear supports, and it's reasonably priced

Hard to go wrong with the Nitto. I'm sure the Crust is real good too, though probably less real world testers of it. You could also call up Eric at Winter for some custom work...

Also, am totally flattered!

LOL.

As soon as I saw the pictured Nitto rack, my exact internal dialogue was "Hard to go wrong with Nitto."

I got the Rawland Rando v3. Real happy with it. If you want to attach to the lowrider eyelets (below the mid-fork eyelets) you will need the longer struts for $10 extra. This photo shows the stock struts at the very maximum length.

I think this is what you want -

Expensive but very nice, will look the part. Probably what bq ran on theirs

Yes, very nice. Or if you want to save $30, or like/need the other threaded mounting spots, this:
