I have an older Veloce hub that supposedly had a 9 speed cassette.

I bought a new 13-26 Veloce cassette. Looks like the 9spd freehub will take the 10spd cassette OK, but the lockring is too big.

Looks like I need a 26mm lockring as far as I can tell. Most listings for these state the # of teeth, not the diameter. Ones that do state the diameter aren't cheap! What exactly should I be looking for and is it just a lockring I need?

Thanks.

I encountered the same problem; you need the 26x1 lockring for 12/13t small cog. I posted a WTB here (https://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=238620) and, as usual, Paceline came through.

I happened to have saved one of the messages from one of our generous members, so if you strike out feel free to PM me and I'll connect you.

Thanks.

So some of the ones I'm finding say for 12-13. How do I know if that's 26mm? Is that a given?

Not a given; like for today's cassettes, there are different lockrings for 11t versus 12/13t. I should have pointed you at the General thread instead, since it contains insights from OP and other experts on the background, also the part number (assuming your small cog is 12 or 13 it's CS-201, unless you want to spring for titanium, then CS-001T; CS-301 if your small cog is 11).

More importantly, that thread contains links to alternate manufacturers like Marchisio and a link to buy at Bellati Sport (they have it in stock, about $22 shipped). Just make sure you get the "GMRCL Campagnolo 9 s. M26/1".

That's very helpful information. Thanks.

Got a PM from a member. Might get lucky here.

I've got one from Billati Sport in the cart ready.
