Anyone know what tool I'd need for removing a sram gxp PF BB. 24 mm spindle. I know park has the phallic one you hit with a hammer, but I've seen other ones for BB92/86 where it's not blunt force like this one:

will it work?

Unless I'm looking at that ebay tool wrong, that's still a "bang-it-out" tool. The difference is that instead of using spring fingers, it uses a split collet flange, allowing you to fit the collet into the bearing bore with the flange on the inside. Then you bang on the shaft so the flanged collet can push on the bearing cup.

As long as you have a well fitting tool, and you can apply well directed blows, there's nothing dangerous about banging cups out of a frame.

Maybe it's the wrong one - I was looking at one that once it's set in there you actually turn it with an hex wrench and it pushes it out gently.

What exactly would this tool push against? With pressed in cups, the only surfaces that could be pushed against are the faces of the BB shell. Unfortunately, the face you'd need to push against is the face that is covered by the lip of the cup you're trying to push out.

The tool in the video relies on the diameter of the remover cup being just large enough to fit over the lip of the BB cup, but small enough to have full contact against the BB shell. The BB shell outer diameter is often not much larger than the lip on the BB cup -depending on your particular BB cup and BB shell, the removal cup may or may not fit your setup.

There was a thread about a similar removal tool a few months ago. In that case, it turned out that the tool wouldn't work.

I’ve used this style and it does “Jack out” the BB. Definitely cleaner approach than wacking but both yield the same result.

The one listed appears to be similar in that it has a collet but I thing it requires hitting and not jacking.
