Of these Serotta Forumites listed above who is starting their ride in Wellesley and who is starting in Sturbridge? Sound off. I'm starting in Needham, close to Wellesley. :banana:

Quattro;

You're not supposed to give out the secret plan! :crap:

I think where Len is a first timer, we are probably going to take the start with eveyone else. There is a certain "something" about lining up with 1500-2500 like-minded folks and rolling out together.

I guess that means we will end up meeting you on the road either at the lunch stop or at MMA.

I have heard that Ben Serotta and Ron Kiefel may be among the VIP riders this year. I hope we can get them to join us for the team photo at MMA.

I assume we are all ending our rides at the PRovincetown Inn on Sunday.

If so, I am going to try and work out a ride plan for Sunday that will allow as many of us as possible to cross the line in Provincetown together.

I know some riders are headed for the Fast Ferry and may not be able to wait, but we'll try to do something cool on Sunday.

Bruce, last year we rolled out from the un-official start in Needham at 7:00 a.m., as much as I like to start with 1500 others this worked out quite nicely. The first few miles through Needham and Dover are on tight twisting narrow roads, not having to deal with the crowd made the first few miles quite a bit easier to negotiate. I realize for some people time is not an issue and riding with everyone from the start is part of the experience, I agree and enjoyed the mass start from Sturbridge for 4 years. But, the roads in Needham and Dover are quite narrow so....

Exciting to hear that Ben and Ron may be riding this year.

Quattro;

It will be purely up to Len if we roll over to your house or if we leave with the masses.

August is a long way off.

Well, those of us leaving from Wellesley (or Needham) certainly can plan on meeting up at registration on Friday at Babson as a start.

With the temperature in the single digits this morning those warm August days certainly are a long way off.

I'm starting in Sturbridge and finishing at the Fam Finish (son wants to be at the finish and they're my ride home too). Last year I rode over to the PTown Inn finish first. It's not far...

the Mass Start Charity ride thing several times before....most notably the Alaska AIDS ride........so I have no problem starting in Needham.

You guys are the experts on this ride......I'll take your lead.
