Hello -

I am tired of handlebar bags for my gravel bike. I want to swap it out for a largeish saddle bag. Here is what I need it to hold:

two (2) (dos) (deux) tubes, 28-32
2-3 CO2s + nozzle thing
Multitool!
TA quick release lever thing
Short hand pump (kind of optional)
Tubeless tear repair kit
A pocket constitution
A miranda rights card
Perhaps a snack or two
a little extra room for rocks or trinkets I pick up along the way.

I REALLY LOVE THIS ONE
https://roadrunnerbags.us/collections/bike-packing-bags/products/bikepacking-saddle-bag
I REALLY HATE THE PRICE (it also might be TOO big for my requirements)

Basically something that will help me survive a 45-50 mile gravel ride. I do not bike pack and get immensely bored on my bike after 4ish hours.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!!

Edit: I dont want loops that make me run my bar bag on my saddle. I want a saddle specific bag. Thanks!

Just get some ...

Run your bar bag on your saddle.

That is not what I want but thank you.

i used to use a jandd tubular tire bag but hated that the inside wasnt reinforced so no matter how tight around the seatrails you got the thing, it would still sag.

Carradice bags are nice. This one is their smallest and would probably work for you. I have a Barley which is day trip size.

Although I'll admit tool rolls are not the most convenient, I keep going back to my Morpha (https://olivegreendog.com/mopha-bike-tool-roll/) tool roll for my largish loads. The thing I hate about large seat rail/post mounted saddle bags is how they behave when not fully loaded, a tool roll can just be wrapped tighter.

Thanks! I like this but I dont like the looks. Check the roadrunner I posted. That sort of traditional saddle bag (but larger!) is really my jam.

I'm a big fan of Outer Shell bags.

The Rolltop might work since it's expandable:

If you're looking for something slightly bigger (more like the Road Runner bag), check out the Dropper (smaller version) or Expedition (larger version) seatpacks. Still pricey, but not as much as the Road Runner bag.

Check out the Backloader by Topeak. It comes in three sizes....

Put a paint stirring stick inside.

I think the Arundel Tubi bag should fit what you want without being too big or too expensive.

Try more of a medium size saddle bag and a top tube bag. That keeps some snacks, phone or whatever you may need quickly, without dismounting, in the front with easy access.

It may be slightly small, but I'd try a 45mm Tube and Tool Rocket Pocket from Velocolour. If I did not already have a tool roll from them, I'd have gotten one of the smaller sizes.

Huge fan of outershell bags. Have been using his handlebar bag for years thru commuting, some light touring and just out riding. So I was gonna recommend the seat pack as well.

That said, I've always kinda loved the size of the Fairweather seat bag. I've liked its looks every since I saw it on this Tomii (https://www.instagram.com/p/BX0NBtEFrho/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link). YOu can find it here: https://global.bluelug.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=fairweather+seat+bag.

I have the Arkel waterproof seat bag (https://www.arkel-od.com/seat-bag) on my gravel bike, and it should easily handle everything OP asked for (except the hand pump) without being so large as to look ridiculous or scrape my inner thighs.

I like these canvas style bags:

Banjo Brothers Minnehaha small saddle bag - cheap
Acorn small saddle bag - nice, but rarely in stock
Rivendell Sackville Banana Sax - costs more, but well made and really convenient to use

All these work well with saddle loops.

I have the large version of this. Works well although not as cool as the handmade options out there.
