Campy FD from clampy to Brazy...

Ok guys, if i want to convert a brazed on record or chorus for example, to clamp on FD, I can buy the adapter clamp or the other adapter clamp thingy, which i remove a part and then bolt the clamp and the adjustments bolts piece all together to the FD.

But if i want to do the opposite, have clamp on FD and convert it into a brazed on I cant find parts at all.

So the only option is to find another braze on FD, so i was wondering if the veloce 10 or a centaur 10 or any other model braze on FD has that piece interchangable with chorus or record 10. Asking because is cheaper to get one of those low end brazed on FD's than get a chorus or record one, besides they look to be around a lot.

From the later 8spd through 10spd, you can swap at will. The only exception is late 10spd with the “z link.”

Some of the lower end mounts will be held on with a c-clip vs a bolt, but they are totally interchangeable. I’ve swapped many a front derailleur from Veloce to Record from 8 to 10.

Thanks a lot bird.... have a chorus FD with the clamp and I need one with a braze on and was trying to find the part but nothing at all around the market.

Saw those cheap old veloce and other models and I was wondering if was worth to get a used one to remove the piece and put it in the chorus fd.

For some reason record and chorus 10 braze on FD's at least in the bay turned out quite expensive if new, even used they look like a lot of money to me.

Correct, 'Z' link started in 2008.
8S era..from early 90's, Chorus and below same system as others thru 2007. Record somewhat different but doable.

I have plenty of lower group braze mounts I can trade. They have the circlip instead of the screw to hold the link on, but functionally the same.

Centaur 10-speed will also work and has the Z-brace (unlike Veloce)
