no,cinelli/columbus don't weld anything,they have a sub contractor,cicli barco http://www.ciclibarco.it/
you may have the same xcr for about half the price...

I've seen it mentioned in other threads here on Paceline that the Cinelli XCR is produced by a subcontractor, namely Cicli Barco. Does anyone know if that is/was true? Does anyone know who is welding their current XCR frames?

Thanks, that's what seems to be the consensus. They do great work, so that's a good thing for Cinelli IMO.

Take a look at this article I found. They don't name names but claim to be building frames for several brands.

Totally agree. I think so much higher of the Cinelli XCR after I learned Barco was behind the creation of it.

It appears Torelli recently went under, but judging by their frames I think they used Cicli Barco as a contractor as well

Padua is on quarentine. I wonder how it affects the cycling industry.

I was wondering the same thing. So many of the great Italian builders are in northern Italy.

So many in that area Italy. Off the top of my head I can think of large manufacturers in the Milan area include Colnago, Bianchi, DeRosa. Smaller independent builders Bertoletti, Pegoretti, Cicli Barco, Bixxis

Back to the topic of who Cicli Barco makes frames for... after looking at Officine Mattio's Eremo Classic (https://officinemattio.com/models/eremo/?lang=en), I strongly suspect Cicli Barco is making those frames as well.

Definitely an uncanny resemblance.

Yep. They definitely do nice work, I'd contract Barco to build frames for my company if I were them
