How to update the Shimano Di2 charger SM-BCR2 or PC linkage device SM-PCE1?

How do I update the SM-PCE1 (or the charger SM-BCR2)?

My (2018) PC linkage device SM-PCE1 needs an update (there is an update from May 2019) but when I connect it to the etube Windows software on my PC I don’t see it.

I have tried to connect it with a rear derailleur and the etube software sees the derailleur but the SM-PCE1 doesn't show up.

Is your Etube software showing version 3.4.5 in the upper left corner? It should automatically prompt you to update the PCE1 if it's out of date.

Yes Version 3.4.5 for the etube software.

But I can’t see which version the PC SM-PCE1 as it doesn’t show up.

If it is current i dont think it reports anything. If it isnt it updates first thing or tells you it cant if you are not online...
