I just sold my trusty Mosaic frame and fork. I included both a ton of photos but also a video of the bike highlighting it patina and a dent. Just out of curiosity which works better for you?

Maybe I'm just old, and maybe it's actually better, but my first suspicion whenever somebody posts a video of the item for sale is that it's an empty play to get more views on his/her youtube channel.

High definition photos, especially of areas in question. Those matter to this frequent buyer of used bikes.

Btw, I almost threw in a purchase offer on your bike. Glad it sold so I don’t have to wonder about it overnight.

I much prefer pictures. And holy crap what a deal! I've been looking for something like that.

Personally, photo

In your case, the price rendered almost everything else irrelevant

I'm too impatient to watch amateur videos at someone else's pacing. I'd far rather see 10-25 stills that I can hone in on what's important to me.

For cars I LOVE video.

For bike, photos

I like that you did both. My personal preference is pics but there are times (like when I’m buying a bike) that if video is also available I’ll take the time to watch it.

For cars I LOVE video.

For bike, photos

Had my first video experience with a car not too long ago. I'd been looking for a specific car in pristine condition for some time, and was growing fatigued going out to look at cars that weren't as pristine as "pristine." Disappointment after disappointment, I'd pretty much stopped looking seriously - even if they looked good in the pics, odds were it wasn't gonna pass muster.

Then a dude posted somewhere and included two viddys - one doing a full groom o the interior and then another detailing the outside, under the hood, exhaust notes, cleanliness of the engine, etc - I emailed the dude and said I'd come buy it at his earliest convenience.

I'm all about the viddy now.

I purchased a used frame a week ago using a few mediocre photos and some stranger's word as my only guidance. It arrived today and, thankfully, 100% checked out.

If the seller would have done a video similar to yours then I wouldn't have spent the last week feeling anxious, because I would have had a very good idea of what I was actually purchasing. Nice idea.

On this forum, 95% of the crowd are incredibly knowledgeable and there seems to be a common set of values for condition. If there is damage, I like the clear and transparent photos documenting it - we are (by and large) able to make informed decisions that way. Your recent posts have very detailed photos and leave little to the imagination so I would say you’ve done your part.

The video thing seems like overkill, but maybe that’s just me.
