I am putting together a cycling oriented vacation in the Toulouse, France general area. Part of the time will be spent about an hour drive north of Toulouse. Also planning to visit the Pyrenees region south of Toulouse. We are not planning to use a guide or touring service.
Ideally we will bring/ride our own bikes. Its been a long time since I have boxed a bike for international travel. On one trip I shipped ahead to my final destination. On another I boxed and checked the bike as baggage. I am comfortable with breaking down/building up process. I have never used a service like Bike Flights or similar. I wonder how it compares to shipping ahead or checking as baggage.
Another possibility that could very well work for us is to rent. I have done some online research and there are options. I am looking for any Paceline suggestions on shops in this area that rent a good performance bike.
