I was near the top of Route des Crêtes (or as CN erroneously refers to it, "Les Crêtes") for stage 2. Of course Vlasov got all the attention for that powerful attack (trust me, that climb is brutal) but Quintana was looking nice all day, too. He seems very comfortable in new colors...

He wasn't a happy camper at moviestar..this season will tell but I think he's found a good, new home.

Yer lucky to be there...:)

Surprised to see there are still rim brake bikes in the pro pelOton..even Cofidis(Campag 12s) is disc brake..:confused:
Ineos, with their YUGE budget-still rim brake..FDJ, others..2 Italian frame makers, Pinarello and Bianchi-rim brakes..

Eventually, some of these frame sponsors won't even HAVE a rim brake version to choose from..

Speaking of GCN coverage in general, at yesterday’s CX instead of the typical “UCI Kills Cross” sign, someone was holding a “Marty Saved Cross” sign. [emoji3]

Yes, I've heard that a number of European bike makers have already internally announced they are discontinuing rim brake versions for the 20-21 model year. It's not a debate which is better/blah/blah/blah, it's an industry standard change.

Yup, it's gonna be in the entire pelOton is on discs with one-two 'holdouts' ala Sean Kelly and pedals. No longer a debate, it's a-comin..just much slower than I thought it would be..when did the UCI say discs hunky-doory? 3 years ago?
The UCI confirmed in a press release yesterday that disc brakes will be authorised for use in road (and BMX) racing as of July 1st, after years of fits and starts that saw them approved on a trial basis, temporarily re-banned, and then approved once again.Jun 22, 2018

Yeah, in fact I just bought a new bike yesterday. Disc. Not because I need disc in Fla, but because all new wheels, etc.in the future will be disc.

Agreed GCN Race coverage has been quite good! I watched their coverage of a few other races & was quite impressed ;)

About the rim brakes I hope not but am guessing your right.

Funny too what you said about Sean Kelly...I use to use him as my excuse for not changing over to clipless too ;)
