Tigger was clearly setting the boy up. He snaked under the kids arm locking it up with his right, reached across with his left gave the kid a little "pat", continued around to grab behind his head/neck. The only thing that prevented Tigger from pulling him down into a left knee was the little kids in front.

Tigger is a Bad Azz.

PS: If Tigger was really skilled, after he hit with the knee a couple of times, he would follow with a left flash elbow from the same arm controlling the head/neck. Hmmm, maybe I analyze too much. :rolleyes:

I heard on the radio news this morning that the kid was pulling on Tigger's headpiece and the guy was practically choking inside. He just wanted the kid to stop the choking. This particular report also said that Disney has to deal with over 12,000 lawsuits a MONTH. Most are dismissed, but if Disney is wrong they usually settle. I wasn't kidding what I wrote earlier:

Tigger's right arm comes over and snakes under the kids left (grabbing arm), then lifts up locking out the kids arm...essentially an armbar. See how the kid goes up on his toes and bounces a couple times...before... Tigger comes around with a left paw to the face. Then moves his left around the other side of the kids head to gain more control. I'm not saying the kid didn't deserve it. All I'm saying is that Tigger has had "some" training and did just enough to stop whatever the kid was doing "without" hurting him.

I teach a very similar technique from the clinch.

I had to watch this about 20 times, but I have to agree that Tigger definately wanted to lock the kids left arm. I don't think that he meant to hit the kid in the head...but maybe wanted to get away from the kid and grab the kids left arm. In doing that, he probable accidentally swung his hand into the kids face. I mean he is in a big suit.
I am thinking that the kid was up to something. He has that crap eating grin and immediately punches Tigger in the head to retaliate. Like he was looking to provoke. I could be wrong about the kid doing something, but Tigger definately locked up his arm on purpose.

I agree William Tigger has the armbar but I don't think the swipe to the face was intentional. If it was he needs more training because it was a fairly weak glancing blow, Although I suspect the big Tigger hands throw off your mojo to some degree.

You don't get it. Tigger is a semi-domesticated cat. If Tigger really wanted to hurt the kid, he could have beheaded the poor little kid. But he decided to use a more sensitive approach- a gentle swipe (without using his claws). Give Tigger a great deal of credit for self control. :)

Why I'm spending so much time on this I have no idea. Sandy you are probably right, but after watching it again from the begining I think William may be on to something. It is more difficult to see in the replays at the end but in the very first play of it Tigger moves his right arm and puts an obvious arm bar on the kid and locks it. The punch is still wimpy. Also the speed with which Tigger reacts initially from the arm around shoulder position to the armbar suggests to me that the kid either did something to him that hurt or was trying to make him loose his balance. I suspect as they say in the south the kid needed a good arse whippin. End of analysis
