Is there a easy way to identify which hub model I have?

Thanks!

post a picture and i'd bet this forum gets it right in less than 5 posts.

Yea; there aren’t a whole lot of different models; they are pretty easy to eyeball ID I would say.

Ok I think they are Chris king classics, after digging around a bit from when I bought them. They are 130 spaced road hubs. I’ll have to get a picture of them.

Any idea what my options are cassette/gearing wise on these. My bike is currently 10 speed 2x. I think I want to either go 1x or at least get a clutch derailleur. All my other cross/gravel bikes are disc and I run sram 10 spd road shifters mtb derailleur.

You can fit Shimano 10 or 11 speed MTB cassettes on that hub, which would get you an 11-42 (10 or 11 speed) or 11-46 (11 speed only) range.

This bike has 10 speed Ultegra hubs. I have a Deore 11-42 ten speed cassette, X9 shifter, and long cage Rival 1 RD.

I was trying to figure out if the shimano cassettes would work or not. Thanks.

Chris King R45, looks like a shimano/sram freehub body. I can't tell you if its 10 speed only or if it accepts standard 11 speed shimano/sram cassettes.

Also, socks and thong sandals.....

That’s an R45 hub, and the stripes on the freehub body indicate compatibility with 11 speed Shimano and SRAM road cassettes.

Haha yeah those are my basement chacos. It’s cold down there in the winter.

Correct you are with the stripes.

OP, should be good to run 11sp or 10sp with a spacer.

Awesome, when I bought them I was told they were classic hubs. It’s my first set of king hubs so didn’t really think twice as these were going to be used on my pit bike and wouldn’t see much use. I put them back in the box and didn’t race cross at all this year.

Thanks for the ID. Im happy they are R45s.
