Although I knew they were still in business, it's been at least a decade since I've seen any style of Spinergy on the road. (I had Rev-X wheels in the 90s.)

Who buys them? Are wheelchair wheels how they stay afloat?

Just had a conversation with someone about these wheels last night. Spinergy brought them in to the shop and finally left a set after getting shooed away several times.

He reports they're a helluva wheel for the money and shockingly good.

bumping this topic

anyone using the GXC wheels and care to offer feedback from actual use.

Other than the Gravelcyclist video I can't find any critical reviews. (JOM is typically unopinionated)

pricing is now is very tempting and the PBO tech seems interesting

I think the only things holding me back is lack of reviews and the 18mm internal width. I dont intend to set these up with anything wider that 38mm.

I was a fan of the old school SPOX as well as the road PBO Stealths but the road thing never caught on (fat spokes- no bueno aero, heavy PBO bladed spokes)

The PBO spokes were cool with the carbon hubs they used to have.
Only weakness offroad was going through thicket, I cut the sheath on a couple spokes, exposing the white, hairy fibers.
I never bothered to replace the spokes, just repaired with silicone tape.
Spokes are a hassle to true, because you don't want to twist them.

Seems like the alloy rim is the one to use, 24mm internal width.
Always had positive experiences with Spinergy.

Wish I got the Rev-X's, but the whole exploding wheel thing was always out in force. I think they are the wheels that fillet'd Michele Bartoli's leg.
