Trying to help a friend with some info.
Anyone know where online I can find a geometry chart for Giant TCR frames from 2005?
thx!

This is from the Japanese website, but it should do...2005 TCR (http://www.giant.co.jp/2005/pop_pics_spec_05/pop_contents/tcr_advanced_tmB.html)

Thanks, but it only seems to show up to the 'medium' size based on the top tube and head tube lengths. My buddy has a 2005 size large...

This is a tough one. IIRC, Giant used to have the specs for the previous models available, but I couldn't find it anywhere on their site. The internet archive wasn't of any use either. I would suggest your friend contact a LBS that carries Giants and see if they have a catalog from 2005.

And after a little more digging, I found this website 2005 TCR Composite 2 (http://www.bikeshed.com.au/pages/products/bikes/giant/Giant_2005/05_tcr_composite_2.html). Check on the bottom right side for a link to the geometry.

Cool, thx. He is on a large 2005 TCR, and is planning on buying a C50. He finds the TCR a bit long for him, and he only has a 10cm stem on it. I'm thinking he needs a "Colnago" 57, which would allow him to use a 110 stem and still have a shorter reach than his current setup..

There's a lot more than a 10mm difference in the reach on these two frames. The STA is the same 73 degrees. The Colnago TT is 55.6cm and the Giant's is 58.5cm, so there will be a 3cm difference. 130mm stem would produce the same reach as he has now. A 120 would shorten the reach by 10mm.

From a vertical fit standpoint, the head tube on the Colnago is quite similar. With a typical 30mm headset the total HT length would be 188mm. The Giant's 175mm HT, with a typical 15mm top section on the integrated headset would be 190mm.

Yup. He finds the overall length of his current setup too long by a fair amount. So if he goes with the 57 Colnago, and a 11cm stem, he'll be 2cm shorter, which is about what he wants. And if he found it too short, he could go to a 12cm stem, which would be fine for this frame as well. The Colnago dealer he was talking to was recommending a 58 for him, but I think that will leave him with a frame too big again..

Sounds like you've got him in the zone.

Before Giant added the M/L size in 2005, you could choose between a
55.5 top tube on the medium, and 58.5 on the large...
what were they thinking! Maybe it's true, size doesn't matter?

I'm not certain but I think Roy Munson really likes Giant frames. He'll know. :D

Roy Munson eats Giant frames for breakfast. And breeds clams too. :)
