But is it vertically compliant and laterally stiff?

wow, this is really excellent! my son will love to see this, he's totally into LEGO.

thanks for posting this!

The drive and the gears work with this Canyon Ultimate CF SL from Lego. Over 200 hours of work and lots of building blocks are in the replica, to which the builder was inspected by his own canyon. Before the racing bike was able to stand on its own wheels, there were some problems to be overcome, Lego farmer Jens Fischer told us in an interview. Have fun with this special edition of the racer of the week.

I don't care that it's made of Legos. You still don't clamp the top tube, dammit!

My younger son was a LEGO fanatic for years. He has that VW camper van as well as the big Porsche 911 GT3. The pride of his collection, however, is the 3 bird set that he couldn’t find anywhere until he got the last one in the LEGO store in Copenhagen. For years our basement floor was covered by about a 20 foot square pile of bricks.

That bike is cool, but that had to make it with disc brakes didn’t they?

Thanks. I was wondering about that. But as an adult without children, I'm kind of glad that I didn't know this.

When i was a boy, Lego was my favourite toy - ever. the majority of my stash were basic bricks, hand-me-downs from an older cousin. Only occasionally would i receive a new box, which would contain fancy stuff like bricks with wheel attachments, or even sprockets .
The item pictured on said box i would usually build once, admire it for 5min, then it got torn down, because i needed the bricks for my own projects.... I would have considered a fully built factory LEGO model on a shelf or in a glass box a million wasted opportunities :)

You did see it, new U.S. series coming February 5th. My kids and I are excited.

I had my 10-year-old go around the house and add up a rough total of how many Lego pieces we have, between all of the sets, toys, Lego Boost, etc. Something north of 32,000 pieces (including a couple of sets that she doesn't know about, wrapped and ready for the 25th!). She has built several sets in the 4k+ pieces range, but she isn't interested in building the current largest set, the Millennium Falcon (~7,500). The Taj Mahal and Hogwarts Castle, both around 6,000 pieces, are in her future!

Best part for me is that she insists that her and I build together. Well . . . I don't actually get to build, I'm just her parts sorter and keep her company, which is more than good enough for me.

It's serious stuff.

My friend built the Millenium Falcon a few years ago before the re-release recently. Found all the parts on bricklink and built it for way cheaper than what they were going for on eBay and the re-release.

You also got that AFOL in France who had his lego stolen and the interweb rallied around the poor dude to get some cash to at least replace his lego.

I've been toying with that approach for a set that is officially "retired" by Lego, but I know my kid would love to have. Walmart still has it listed at its original $60 MSRP, but sold out. On eBay, etc. it is closer to $200. I've downloaded the building instructions PDF, and glanced at the Lego Shop and Bricklink parts supply, and believe I could put it all together, but doing that for the 2,800+ pieces is something I haven't committed to yet.
