before my kids woke up... me and a pal set out for a short ride. Our talk held a better pace than our ride did. Anyway, the conversation turned to the expression, "Have a nice day." My friend had attended a funeral service a day or two earlier where it was discussed that people should take a more proactive stance, not wait around for something 'nice' to happen, and that this year he would start saying, "Make it a nice day."

So it's in that spirit I say, "Make it a nice day. Make it a nice year for yourself and others."

I am going to be selfish this year and hope for better health for myself. I had four incredibly annoying cold/strep/sinus infection episodes within the past 12 months. :confused: This has really hurt my riding.

Other things I hope for for myself include:

- I will like my new place in Alexandria, VA and will find many good riding pals who will hammer my a$$ back into shape (in addition to Znfndl and Too Tall of course).

- I will finally upgrade to captain.

- I will make myself a positive influence in the lives of my very young and impressionable nieces and nephew.

- I will buy a home in Minneapolis, even if I am not there too much.

- I will meet another 'Heidi' on my next trip to Switzerland!!! :D
